   Nepal is a small, independent, beautiful, peaceful, landlocked and mountainous country, situated in the continent of Asia between the Peoples Republic of China and India. Mount Everest, the Highest mountain in the world (height 8848 meters) from sea level is located in Nepal where tourists in large number visit to climb, and to see the Himalayas (mountains) ,     Natural beauty and historical culture . In Nepal , there is 25 million populations with 61 ethnic groups and 70 spoken languages.

About 80% of total population is in the villages where the people work hard in their respective fields. Some people are assigned to cottage industry. Nepal is famous for handicraft such as carpet and pashmina.

Tourism is one of the main source of Nepal where the facility of jungle safari , rafting , trekking and sight-seeing is abundantly available for the tourists.

 

Location :- It borders with the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China in the North and India in the East, South and West respectively.

Area : 147,181 Sq. Kilometres

 

Altitude : Varies from 70 meters to 8848 meters. It can be divided in to 3 topographical regions.
A. Himalayan Region
B. Mountain Region
C. Terai Region

 

Population : Approx.. 20,500,000

 

Language : Nepali is the National Language and written in Devanagari Script

 

People /Religion : Nepalese people are divided into two distinct groups :
the *Indo-Aryans and the *Mongoloids.
Hinduism and Buddhism constitute two major religions of Nepal.
